New Friends At Wagon Hill
Today
when we went to Wagon Hill. I watched a
Weimaraner
playing
Frisbee.
Mom didn't
let me play with him though. After a
while I went
down to the water
and played
in the sand
until some more dogs came. A big yellow lab came and
sniffed me all over.
One of the
people
had a ball thrower and the other
dogs chased the ball until it
went way out
of reach in the water.I mostly watched

while they ran around.
I like to hang out with people
more than dogs,
so I stepped up on a rock between two people and watched my new
buddies play.
They ran back and forth a lot.
Then the man with the ball thrower, started taking
pictures
with his phone.
I tried to stay out of the pictures
cuzz my mom takes
so many of me.
Then I heard some
other people called out
"Cookie"

You can guess where I went next.
No body has to call me twice for a cookie! I don't think
they really wanted to give me one, but I
got right in front of the gang
and sat
waiting for a handout. Then somebody else said "Stick"
and that is my next
favorite word. So I went looking
for the stick.
But I couldn't find it.
Then it
was time for us to all leave.
On the way back to the car, we met some more
dogs.
but
we could not play
and continued on to our car.
When we got home, Mom sent me
nto the water
to wash off the sand, mud and
salt water and Pepper came out to play
with me. I like Pepper better
than my
new friends I met. He is my big brother.
I get to tease him a lot
& He just
puts up with it all.
But when
he gets the chance, he will try to take my
toy.
So I keep just out of his reach.
And I wait
Until he gets close
before I run away.
When I have a stick, Pepper, doesn't care as much
as
when I have a toy.
I really like to chew on the sticks.
They are my favorite toys.
New Trails
Our trip to the Brentwood Mitigation Area was interesting
and fun. First I saw big tall birds
called Great Blue Herons standing
on their
nests in tall, naked trees
in the middle of the water, but I had to sit still
while Mom took pictures of them.
It looked like a fun spot for a swim
and I
jumped in
but Mom made me get right out. I saw a big red-tailed hawk in the sky
and a Kingfisher
but they were to high up for me to play with them. When I saw a
duck in the water near the turtles, I started to go in to play, but again, Mom said "No"
There were lots of trails
and pond there and I found a
stick
for
Mom to throw
for me.
When we were walking back to our
car, I met a new acquaintance
. I wonder where Mom will take me next.
I miss the snow a lot, but it's fun to
play in the water
and we have toys
that Mom throws in the water for us to retrieve.
I Love to swim now
too.
Pepper tries to get the toys
away from
me, but I tease him
and run
him
in circles.
That's him still in the water
ooking for the toy
while I am running in the other direction. For such a fast dog
he sure
s slow sometimes.
Woof, woof, woof! I wonder what is on the
other side of all that water.
